Goal Zero Announces Availability of All-New Yeti 500X and Nomad Solar Panels

SALT LAKE CITY—March 24, 2020—Goal Zero, the leader in portable energy, today announced the availability of the all-new Yeti 500X portable power station and Nomad 10, 20 and 50 portable solar panels.

“Having power available when and where you need it is a crucial part of our everyday lives and is the fuel behind our most memorable adventures,” said Bill Harmon, general manager at Goal Zero. “The new Yeti 500X is designed to power your essential gear, wherever you are. Paired with our new Nomad portable solar panels, you’ll have a potentially endless supply of power for backyard parties, power outages, weekend camping trips and anywhere else you go.”

Yeti 500X Features

Built to power drones, camera equipment, laptops, phones, 12V fridges, USB-C devices, TV’s, audio/music equipment, medical devices (CPAP), and more, the Yeti 500X is 20% more compact than its predecessor, but packs in more power and is even easier to carry and store.  The 500X is perfect for longer camping trips, backyard parties, or on-the-go power in case of an emergency.

  • Increases from 428Wh to 505Wh: Added storage capacity gives you an extra charge on a laptop and longer runtimes on portable fridges, TVs, pellet grills and more.
  • Adds 18W USB-C and 60W PD ports: USB-C and Power Delivery represent the latest in fast-charging technology and offer a high-speed experience that charges devices faster than a standard charger.
  • 12V port is now regulated: This makes it much easier to power 12V devices such as portable fridges.
  • Includes integrated MPPT charging: By switching from a PWM to an MPPT charge controller, users will see up to a 30% more efficient charge when solar charging.

Nomad Portable Solar Panel Features

Nomad 10: This 10 Watt panel gives you the solar collecting capability needed to charge your phone anywhere the sun shines. Redesigned for a more seamless solar charging experience, the Nomad 10 features a built-in Flip Dock and adjustable kickstand that clicks and locks into place for added stability. Its integrated USB port charges phones, power banks, and other small devices.

Nomad 20: Charge a wide range of small to medium devices from the sun with this 20-watt foldable solar panel. The Nomad 20 features Goal Zero’s new small panel design, durable enough to last through any adventure and sleek enough to fit in any pack or bag. It includes integrated cable storage, built-in Flip Dock, and an adjustable kickstand. Nomad 20 will charge phones, power banks, headlamps, fitness trackers, Lighthouse lanterns, other USB devices, and even small power stations.

Nomad 50: Designed to charge Goal Zero’s larger power banks and small to medium power stations from the sun, the Nomad 50 is built tough for mobile base camps and off-grid adventures and is perfect for longer trips when you need more power without sacrificing packability. The four-panel design makes it easy to unfold and collect solar power while stationary, then quickly pack away in tight spaces in your vehicle while traveling. Pair with a Yeti Power Station to keep laptops charged, run portable fridges, and power essential electronics.
