Suffering. It isn't Alex Honnold and Cedar Wright's main goal, but it is a huge component of their expedition. In the video above Alex and Cedar set out to hit all of California's summits above 14,000 feet and to link them by bicycle. It turned into a sufferfest.

Turns out they hadn't suffered enough. They are currently in the middle of Sufferfest number two. They plan to climb 30+ desert towers in and around Moab, UT and connect them by bicycle. After only a few days they have already summited many of the classic climbs in the area. You can follow their progress on their instagram accounts @alexhonnold and @cedarwright, or follow the hashtag #sufferfest2.

Alex and Cedar were able to incorporate a humanitarian mission into this Sufferfest and will be ending in the Navajo Nation. The Honnold Foundation has partnered with Eagle Energy and GOAL ZERO to supply solar power to Elders in the area. The GZ team will be meeting up with them and will be providing updates in real time, so stay tuned.

UPDATE

Alex and Cedar finished Sufferfest 2 and met up with the Goal Zero team at the Navajo Nation to set up solar power and lights. Read about how the project went here.
