The goal zero NiMh batteries are very efficient, however, I have not had good performance from other NiMh rechargeable batteries. They either do not charge at all or do not charge enough.
I live in Hawaii, so the efficiency of the solar panel is incredible (I have the Nomad). I can charge my Iphone directly from the panel in less than two hours...I recently tested with both the battery unit and my Iphone plugged into the panel at the same time and was pleasantly surprised to find that both accessories charged efficiently.
I would recommend goal zero products, especially if you live in Hawaii! I hope to purchase the largest goal zero unit as a "back-up" generator for our home.

i like these batteries because they have a longer life span and no memory that i can tell of. im just waiting for the day when your company gets so large that you stop caring about the quality of your products. ya you might say it'll never happen but you'll sale out when the price is right and it'll no longer be your problem right? right.

i use goal zero products everyday and i am working on going off the grid at least in a large part by useing the goal zero products i show and tell everyone i see how awsome they are and many people are suprised at how well they work .

I think your product is top-of-the-line, second to none. After researching your products against everything on the Internet, there was no comparison. I have not had time to field test all the equipment, but I am impressed at this point. I received your email today about the Battery Pack, Guide 10 Plus, after purchasing it on ebay from bluekangaroo. I am an ebay Power Seller with 85,000 in Inventory. Does the Goal Zero AA and AAA batteries have a memory effect? Do I have to discharge them to zero and recharge them to full again? OR can I recharge them to full even if the battery is not fully discharged to zero?

  I can't tell that there is any memory for the Goal Zero AA and AAA batteries. They are rechargeable batteries. When they go completely dead you can recharge then over and over again to full strength. You can also recharge them even if they are partially used.

  The only difference might be the amount of stored power the battery packs have. For example, you can find other rechargeable batteries that have 2500mAh while ours have 2300mAh. One thing to look out for though, is the only AA batteries that will work with our Guide 10 Plus battery pack are NiMH. Lithium rechargeables will not work.

  Must know if it is Low Self Discharge or not. The Low Self Discharge batteries are the latest greatest for batteries and is an absolute MUST to have. Goal Zero is competitive with their 20% discount for Costco members making it $16. nickel and diming at that point is senseless when you know how incredible Goal Zero is at giving us great products. Read their info as to why they are called Goal Zero....no I do NOT work for them. I am a consumer like you.
