This cable was designed as an input device to connect up to four solar panels in a parallel circuit. It was not designed to be an output device for lighting purposes.Q:
could you explain how using the combiner uses less cable, do you use shorter cables from the boulder 30's to connect to the combiner i.e. 6 foot to maybe 18 inches? It seems that using 6 foot cables from each boulder 30 to combine panels equates to a large line loss in power I'm I right that the calculation equals 1% of loss power to 1 foot of cable? So if your chaining four boulder 30's to the combiner using the 6 foot cord supplied equals 24 feet of line loss? I will be chaining 4 together and I'm looking for the optimum setup. thanks1 answer

It all depends on the set up you use. Actually using a combiner cable will add length to the over length of the cords. So if you can keep it to to just what the panels have standard (6 ft.) The optimal set up is just the cords that come standard and the last one in the chain being plugged into the Battery.Q:
I just bought the yeti and 4 boulder 30 panels.....i'd like to use the combiner to hook in to my yeti......each cord from my 4 boulder 30's is 6 feet long do you sell or no where to get a shorter cord that hooks to the panel (maybe 1 foot) and then to the combiner? this would save me 20 extra feet of cord that seems redundent and keep my energy loss to a minimum.1 answer

We do not have shorter cords, sorry. You can just chain the Boulder 30 panels to each other using the "IN" port on the junction box on the back of each panel. You can have up to 4 in one chin and a total of 8 panel on one unit.Q:

Yes you could do that. However the intake max on the Yeti is only 240 watt, so 8 panels would be the max. But you could have more than 240 watts on the unit because the unit has a built in charge controller that will only allow 240 input.Q:
Can this product be used with the Nomad7? If not is there a similar one that allows the connecting of multiple Nomad7 units?1 answer

This will not work with the Nomad 7s. The 4.7mm combiner cable, along with a 4.7mm extension cable for each Nomad will work though. Also, the Nomad 7s cannot be chained in order to decrease charge time for the Guide 10/guide 10 plus battery packs.Q:
