Q:Is this the correct extension cable to use with my Boulder 30 panels & my Yeti 1250?
A:Yes! The 8.0mm 6ft extension cable will work with your Boulder 30 and Yeti 1250
A:Yes, this is the correct cable to use with the Boulder 30 panels and the Yeti 1250.
Q:Is this the right cable to use to charge a Sherpa 50 from a Boulder 30? The Boulder 30 has a 8MM output plug but it doesn't push deep enough into the Sherpa and easily falls out. Is there adapter to a newer plug type that has the blue ring??
A:Please contact our Support Team at email@example.com or 1-888-794-6250 and we can assist you with an adaptor. You can use the cable mentioned, however it is 6 ft long.
A:Thank you for contacting Goal Zero. The Boulder 30 and the Sherpa 50 are both an 8mm. The Sherpa 50 has a deeper input. Please contact Goal Zero customer service @ 888-794-6250 for an 8mm to 8mm adapter for a firm connection.
Q:I have low wattage while charging in the full afternoon sun of my Boulder 30 to my Yeti 1250. I also have a blinking green light on the "Solar Ports". The "male" side of the cable does not seat fully into the Boulder panel's "Solar Ports" "in side". It does seat fully into the "out side" of the "Solar Ports" and it does seat fully into the "in ports" of the Yeti 1250. Each of the four Boulder 30 panels has this issue. Is this the correct cable for daisy chaining Boulder 30 panels? Did Goal Zero ship the correct cables with my Boulder 30?
A:Please contact our Support Team at firstname.lastname@example.org or 1-888-794-6250 so we can help you troubleshoot your solar panels.
A:Yes, this is the correct product. Goal Zero should have sent you this cable.
Q:The specs say that this extension cable is provided with each solar panel. I just bought three panels but did not receive any extension cables. My order was for Gary Mecham and ordered on 6/21/13. Indefinitely need them. Please call at 2082214224 to let me know what I need to do to get them.
A:The extension cable is the same cable used to connect the panels. Please contact our support team at Support@goalzero.com or 1-888-794-6250 and we would be happy to assist you with your cables.
Q:what is more energy efficient as far as conduction, 3 of the 6 foot 8.0mm cables attached to each other to make one long cable OR 1 of the 30 foot 8.00mm cables?
A:Using extension cables does decrease the amount of power transferred to your device. I would recommend the shortest distance possible from the solar panels.
A:The three 6' 8.0mm will be more energy efficient vice one 30' cable. Voltage drops over distance. A 30' cable has 50 percent more voltage drop than an 18' cable. However, you should have less than a 3 percent loss for 18', not 50 percent. Test each of your extension cables separately to see if you have one that is defective.
Q:Am I correct to believe that one end of this cable will mate with the 8.0mm port on the Guardian charge controller? I need Anderson PowerPole connector on the other end, but I can install that connector myself.
A:That is correct all this cable does is extends the end of any 8mm cable. The Guardian Charge controller has an 8mm in port and a 4.7mm in port.
A:yes, it will
Q:How man of these 6-ft extension cables can I use? The sunny location is over 20 feet from where I need to use the unit because my attached garage stands between the south side of the house, and my kitchen (where I need the generator for the refrigerator). No windows in the right places, either. Or should I just use a regular, outdoor 20-foot 3-prong extension cord between my refrigerator and the Yeti?
A:You can use in theory as many extensions as you want, however there is some energy loss with longer cords. It might actually be more efficient to use a 3 prong extension from the Yeti to the kitchen, it will probably be a better conduction through that cord then our extensions.
Q:Will you lose 1% of energy with this extension like with the 30 foot extension cord?
A:Yes it is about a 1% loss per foot. That can be over come by having a larger gauge wire.
Q:Can this 6 foot cord be used on the 1250
A:Great question! Yes this cable can be used with a Yeti 1250 and Extreme 350.
Q:can i use this to extend the length of the cable that connects to the battery so I can move the battery farther away from the panels?
A:Yes, you can use this extension cable with the Extreme 350 battery pack and Boulder 30 panels.
