Q:Can this be used with a Yeti to jump start a car with a dead battery? I am looking for something to use my Yeti / Extreme battery to be able to jump start my car if the battery dies and there's no other vehicle handy.
A:Unfortunately our Yeti batteries are not intended or powerful enough to jump start a car battery. If you have any additional questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly at either firstname.lastname@example.org or 1-888-794-6250.
Q:Will this cable fit the 8mm input on a Yeti 400? Someone gave me a solar panel that is within the voltage range on the Yeti. I can replace the clips with the connector I need.
A:The Yeti 400 does have an 8 mm input. This cable would not work because it is the female 8 mm (input) to the alligator clips, you would need a male 8 mm (output). We do not make a cable that is the male 8 mm to alligator clip.
Q:Is this the right cable to use if you wanted to add an extra battery to the Yeti 1250?
A:No. We have an Anderson to Alligator Clips or Anderson to O Ring for chaining additional batteries to the Yeti 1250. Contact our Support Team at 1-888-794-6250 and they can assist you.
Q:will the cord fit a nomad solar panel usb port?
A:No, the Solar 8.0mm to Alligator clips will fit the 12V cable from the Nomad 7.
Q:how to i get a longer cord? say 15 ft?
A:We have a 6ft and 30 ft 8.0mm extension cord available. http://www.goalzero.com/shop/p/42/Input-8-0mm-6ft-Extension-Cable/5:5/
A:The closest solution will get you to 14 feet by using the Input 8.0mm 6ft Extension Cable SKU: #90825A. Otherwise, you would have to use the Input 8.0mm 30ft Extension Cable SKU: #90825B. That would probably be too long. Please be aware that the longer the cable, the more voltage loss on it. A 14 or 30ft extension will really reduce the charge output.
Q:Can this part be used to with the Nomad 7 panels to charge a 12v 9amp battery directly?
A:Yes it can, but we would recommend using the Guardian 12V charge controller to regulate the charge.
A:This can be used with a Nomad 7 to charge a 12 v battery.
Q:How long is this cord?
A:Thanks for contacting Goal Zero! This cable is 3 feet long.
A:The Solar 8mm to Alligator Clips is 3 feet long.
Q:Does this item have a male or female connector, will it attache to the female cigarette (SKU#90834A)?
A:The cord has a female 8.0mm connector and would not be able to connect to a female cigarette adaptor.
A:The cord has a female connector and would not be able to connect to the female cigarette.
Q:Can I get this product without the gator clips? I want to hook to the battery on a more permanent basis.
A:Unfortunately we do not. You can purchase one and modify it if you please.
A:Doesn't look like that's an option, but you could always cut the clips off and wire up different connectors (at your own risk, obviously).
Q:Will this allow me to charge a 12v marine battery. If I keep this hooked to my battery while I am fishing will it keep me charged.
A:If you have a solar panel attached to it yes. However you will need to keep an eye on the battery charge level. You can get the Guardian charge controller and you can leave it attached all day long and the Guardian will do that controlling for you!
A:This item is just the cord, not the panel. You can use it to connect a solar panel to a third-party 12V battery, like your marine battery. It should charge the battery, provided you have enough sunlight.
Q:Can I use this cable to daisy chain an extra battery to my yeti power pack?
A:You actually do not need any additional cords or cables. Everything is built in!
Q:can this item connect to the extreme 350 or extreme ui ?
A:It can not. Please contact our Solution Center for more information or questions. You can contact us via email at email@example.com or by phone at 1.888.794.6250 I would like to see what you are wanting to do the the Alligator Clips, maybe we can find a different solution.
Q:I understand that you can charge the Yeti 1250 by plugging it into the wall or by solar power, but is there a way to charge/power it using an optima car battery?
A:That would not be suggested as they would tent to equally distribute the charge instead of transferring from one to the other.
Q:What is the difference between this product and SKU: #90815A??
A:The difference between these products is the size of the cord used to connect to the solar panels. The 8mm clips are for the boulder 30 panel, while the 4.7mm (90815A) clips are used for all other trickle charge-capable panels.
