With this, I was able to turn my Sherpa 120 into a power strip! We had all of our USA electronics in Nepal and had a power strip with 10 outlets. we plugged that strip into the UI and was able to run the internet router, charge the laptop, and charge all of our other things at the same time. We ran it during the day when we had no traditional power and used it at night to run our fan to help us sleep during the hot nights. Simply the best accessory to the Sherpa 120.

  Moisture is problematic for any electronic device. If it was not turned on while it got wet and has not been on since, try the following: remove any case parts if possible, shake out any water you can, then dry thoroughly with a hair dryer. Once you think it is dry, place it in front of some cool dry air, like an air conditioning vent for a day or two. At that point, plug it in and hope for the best.

Hello,
I'm a previous customer and love your products. Does the Extreme UI power AC devises while only plugged into the cigarette adaptor of a car or does it have to be powered by the extreme 350 battery? I am looking for a solution for charging camera batteries using the AC battery charger plugged into the Extreme UI and simply plugged into my car cigarette adaptor. Will this work well?

  No this powers devices on the go anywhere, it does not need to be plugged into the adapter to be working.

What is the power consumption of the inverter itself? How does it vary depending upon the wattage drawn from the inverter? One purpose of such an inverter is recharging mobile devices with AC recharging units and special-purpose internal batteries. Often these chargers do not draw much power. When charging from something like the 350 power pack, I am concerned about extra power consumed either by overcharging or by energy consumed by the inverter itself.

  You will lose about 25% of the energy to the conversion in the inverter. So if you give it 100 watts you will get 75 watts out. So if possible try and use USB or 12v.

I ordered the extreme 350 battery and the extreme UI, my question is how do i plug my 110v devises into this power source?
My intend use was to recharge my battery s with this unit. I use C123 and have found not recharging units on the web site that support C123s.

  Lithium CR123A batteries usually have chargers that have to plug into 110 volts. The Extreme UI has a weird-looking universal AC power plug than you can plug almost any 110 volt AC plug in the world into. This is labelled "2" in the Extreme UI manual.

I sen this question to GoalZero and below I have pasted in the original questions and your response. I am confused by your answer. All the marketing collateral says the EUI will power laptops and other electronics but the answer below states a slightly different version of that. Does this work with Macbook chargers? Thanks!

  Most of that information is incorrect. You can charge using a Modified sin wave. Also the inverter mentioned above is not a Goal Zero product. You should have no problem powering your MacBook from the Extreme UI. Please contact us at support@goalzero.com for more information.

  Thanks for contacting Goal Zero! The Extreme UI will work with your Macbook if you were to run your MacBook off of the 12V cigarette plug on it. The 12V will convert the power back to AC properly to charge your MacBook. If it was going straight from the 110V plug it might have issues. Hope this answers your question.

  If the problem you are having stems from the fact that your device is not using pure sine wave, then this product will not help you. This product uses a modified sine wave. The only Goal Zero inverter with a pure sine wave is the Yeti 1250.

Hi folks, I really like your stuff but was wondering if you have any plans for an inverter for the 350 that's a little more quiet and if possible a pure sine as well. The system is good but during a recent power outage my USB cord was not long enough to move the 350 far enough away to relieve to mind numbing hum. Pleeeese develop something quiet.

I have one of the Guide 10 plus adventure kits. After looking at your catalogue it would seem that with this converter I should be able to charge my DSLR battery. However the site and catalogue dont really come out right and say this. I wanted to double check and see if it will in fact work, or if there is a way to make it work.

  Yes you can do that! The inverter has a 400 watt max, so as long as that is not exceeding 400 watts between all of them then you will be fine.

  The max is about 4 amps or 400 watts. Another unit would only increase the run time or over all watt hours, but not the watt output.

When I plug in my AC power adapter of my laptop to the inverter there is a buzzing sound coming from the inverter which I have come to expect. However when I turn on the laptop the inverter's fan comes on and becomes extremely loud. Is this normal? I had an Escape 150 that didn't have buzzing, loud sounds coming from it when my laptop was plugged in into it.

  It can not. The Solar panels do not provide enough back end input for the inverter to make the conversion. You would need a battery pack of some type.

  The Extreme UI does not hold energy. You need a more full and consistent energy source like a battery or 12v power source. You can however, charge a battery via solar and then use the inverter on the battery to get 110v or 220v.

  The Inverter needs sustained input, the Solar panel cannot supply the needed power at a consistent enough rate for the inverter to transform the 12v DC to 110v AC. If you have a power pack you can charge that via solar and then use the power pack to charge your laptop. Thanks!

  No, the Extreme UI is designed specifically to connect to the Extreme 350 via anderson connectors. The Sherpa 50 uses our Sherpa UI. We discontinued the old version of the Sherpa to make way for our new design coming out this September.

  No, this is actually an inverter and only designed to connect with our Extreme 350. Inverters do not typically work with our panels as the panel can't get enough solar power to bump the voltage up to 110V set up.

  As the Inverter is not a battery pack and does not store power, it cannot be charged. It can only be used to convert power from DC to AC when used with the Extreme 350 power pack.
