I took a large red drinking straw and slit it length wise. The straw wraps around the LUNA perfectly. This allows me to use the LUNA during my astronomy activities. I have used shorter pieces of a straw to act as a dimmer. I use it with the G10+ and the USB port on my laptop.

The light is really cute-- should have been perfect for an extra desk light off my computer, a night lit in the kitchen, reading lights in the bed, and emergency lights. Plenty bright for my needs.

Unfortunately, you need to unplug it to shut it off, and there is no way to dim it when you don't want full output. This makes it pretty much useless for my intended application.

Ad a dimmer/switch to the end of it, and make the gooseneck 3-4 inches longer and I will buy a dozen.

I use this to light up my keyboard and adjecant areas for notes etc. when working at home so as not to disturb others in a different mode such as watching TV. This has been a fantastic aid in my daily life and have given some of these to my friends as well for their personal use while on the road and at home. I have had mine for three months and like it so much I purchased a back up for if and when it ever should fail. Bottom line is I like it enough to give to anyone as a gift.--John.

The bright white color and 25 Lumen light output is enough for most applications, but if you need a more powerful 5V USB worklight like the Estrelle is for 12V applications look to the new GoalZero FireFly

Not sure what the complaints are about regarding an on/off switch. Plugged into the Guide 10 power pack, there is already an on/off switch on that devise.

This is an extremely well made light that is very bright. When used for its intended purpose, it works very well. The flexible arm is useful as well. I use it on hard to light areas when working around the house, and when camping.

I agree with G. Who wants to plug and unplug the devive everytime you use it? I would have payed an extra dollar for a simple on/off switch. I do not recommend this product until it is re-designed.

  There is not any manual on/off switch available on the Luna LED Light. You have do either remove the light from the USB port or use the computer to shut off of the USB port.

Q:
I just purchased the Luna LED light stick and when I plug it into my USB port, it briefly lights then goes out and I need to move it around in an attempt to get it to come back on then it goes out again. Doesn't matter which USB port I use, seems like it has a short or something. I am about to return it to the store but thought I would ask if I'm missing a switch or something. If not, it seem the quality is lacking.

I'm looking at using the Luna Light as a part of an exhibit.

I love these units and have 5 for my use at work in the field and at home!! And have came up with novel ways of use for them in my IT world...

But I'm working on an exhibit at my place of business. And was wondering if there is a specification as to voltage and watt usage of the Luna LED Light. We plan to utilize 40 of these units for a special exhibit... and to power them I want to purchase a power supply to drive these lamps correctly. I understand they are USB based power approx 5vdc... just wondered if you had the power specs.

  Well thats the first thing that came to mind, how long will it last? I was looking for an alternative to bringing my gasoline lantern to light a table at the campsite which I usually leave on for a while or a tent at night. So, I´m writing this review at 1213 AM, I fully charged the guide 10 battery pack that came with the nomad 7, I turned the light on at 422 pm, so its been on for almost 8 hours straight and the battery pack is still in green and it gives a very decent light, enough to light a buffet table, a large tent easily or just about anything thats not far away. My lantern is staying home from now on... Would like to stay up and see when it will die out but my guess is it will at least go for 10 hours straight which is more than enough given that I can recharge the thing as soon as the sun comes up.
