Joe Atkin

Joe Atkin

President & CEO
Having lived several years in the Czech Republic, Austria, Chile, and Costa Rica... Joe literally calls the world his home. You can find him king salmon fishing in Alaska, hiking volcanoes in Costa Rica, golfing in Hawaii or exploring the ruins in Maccu Piccu, Peru. Each year he enjoys running in the Ragnar Relay Wasatch Back, a 188-mile relay run with 11 friends through the beautiful mountains of Utah. This year, you can find him on the road telling the GOAL ZERO story to potential retailers of our innovative products.

Bart Miller

Bart Miller

Vice President of Sales
At first glance, Bart may be perceived as the typical stuffed shirt MBA. Dig a little deeper and you'll discover that Bart is fascinated by virtually all-outdoor adventures. Actually, his passion to explore the world drove him to get his private pilot license and U.S. Coast Guard Captain license. For Bart getting there is half the fun! Right out of college Bart guided tours on the Green River. Today he enjoys voyaging with youth groups and sharing his enthusiasm for adventure outdoors. Whether he is sleeping in an igloo in the Yukon, floating the cobalt blue waters of the Baja, or recreating atop the snow capped Rocky Mountains it's exciting for Bart.

Norm Krantz

Norm Krantz

Vice President Product Development
Born and raised in Hawaii, Norm's adventures have been set in some of the most scenic places on earth. Whether bombing through a bamboo jungle on his mountain bike, bodysurfing at "Sandys", backpacking Waimea Canyon, scaling waterfalls, surfing, or literally swinging from banyan tree vines into tropical pools, Norm loves the islands. Now living in Utah, Norm has added to his love of the outdoors. Climbing granite slabs, mountain biking slick rock or just hiking with his family are some of his favorite activities. At GOAL ZERO Norm is responsible for staying outdoors, testing our gear and making it better.

Trent Read

Trent Read

Chief Financial Officer
Whereas other members of the Management Department are running marathons, hitting the steep and deep slopes, or changing the world, Trent is officially boring. His biggest risk is being a dad. He is freaked out by heights, is no good at skiing, and is even worse at golf. We keep him around because he knows a lot about how to work with banks, investors, spreadsheets, and other more boring stuff like that. He's done pretty well with that kind of thing at both startups and large Fortune 500 companies. As risk averse as he is now, he tells some great stories from his old high school and college days, so he may have been fun at some point…if the stories are true.

Chris Abbruzzese

Chris Abbruzzese

Vice President of Marketing
Chris comes to Goal Zero having spent 17 years at Maui Jim Sunglasses trying to block the sun. Now, he is trying to undo all that, ruminating ways to get people to harness the free and clean energy of the sun. Chris and his wife live on a farm in Maine and their weekend outdoor pursuits include mowing pasture, tending the wheat field, and driving draft horses. Cross-country skiing, stand-up paddling, cooking competitions, and his mobile wood fired pizza oven take him on adventures beyond the farm.

Don Blohm

Don Blohm

Director of Operations
Don may be the eldest member of the team but he can kick anyone's trash on the trail. When Don is not busy keeping inventory flow and supply chain in order, Don loves outdoor photography and long hikes. He can be found hiking across the entire Grand Canyon or relaxing in Lake Powell with his family.
