Our Deepest Sympathies

We are saddened to hear of the tragic loss of life that occurred with the Eddie Bauer Kayak team. (This taken from the First Ascent Blog.) “Yesterday Eddie Bauer received word that the South African whitewater guide, Hendri Coetzee, who was leading First Ascent Kayakers Ben Stookesberry and Chris Korbulic through the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), was pulled from his kayak on the Lukuga River by a crocodile and is presumed dead. Expedition to Africa: First Ascent Kayak Team

Jesse Coombs and Darin McQuoid of the First Ascent Kayak Team emailed us this weekend the low down on how the GOAL ZERO gear performed on their latest expedition: “Darin McQuoid and I just returned from the First Ascent Kayak Team’s expedition to Africa. We traveled to Uganda, a wonderful country where typical of most third world countries, power supply is intermediate at best. Testing, testing, 123…

We just got word from the USAF 7 that the Nomad 7’s they are taking with them to Antarctica are exceeding expectations. Check out what their tester had to say: “Bottom Line: I’m impressed!!… We’re going to use one of these Nomad 7′s in Antarctica to charge our SAT phone, cameras, and iPods, so we wanted to test it out and get familiar.
